Building and Grounds Update
Post- Irma Status Report
The Caribe’ has been spared any major damage!
Our building successfully withstood hurricane force winds and rain. Lights and electricity remained operational throughout Irma, and the elevators are now again running although Comcast service is interrupted. The seawall was not breached by either waves, tide or storm surge. Our pool, pool deck and parking lot have several inches of sand with partial fence loss, but preliminary evaluation shows no evidence of structural issues. The palm trees survived, even the one on the beach! The intense planning and preparation efforts to insure the safety of our property proved effective.
Our maintenance staff spent today assessing and documenting conditions in our common areas, the roof and other vulnerable sections of our facility. Tomorrow, Tuesday, they will be diverted from general storm clean-up duties in order to determine which units may have sustained water damage. The owners of such units will be contacted by the Office so that immediate efforts can be made to remediate those issues.
Unless it is an extreme emergency, please refrain from contacting the office tomorrow, as the Manager will be working with the maintenance staff to coordinate unit inspection efforts.
