Greetings Caribe Neighbors:
Yes, the Caribe is “Marching” on and yes, it’s that time again. The Caribe Annual Meeting will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021. Please watch your mail for correspondence which contains two important notices and instructions pertaining to our annual meeting. First: The 2nd Notice of Annual meeting. Please review the Board of Directors candidate bio/resumes and be sure to vote for the three vacancies that will come due this March. Second: Notice of the time of the actual meeting which will be at 10:00 AM via ZOOM. Unfortunately, COVID prevents us from our usual venue of Jarvis Hall so the Board of Directors, after much deliberation, has determined that this is the best option that will be safe and most convenient while still being most widely accessible to the needs of all of our various members. This announcement will provide step-by-step instructions on how to access ZOOM for those few members who have not yet used this convenient method of virtual communication during the pandemic. Time is running short so please be vigilant to watch for this important mailing.
Fortunately, the COVID roadblocks have not prevented the Caribe board and staff to proceed with ongoing improvements and repairs to our lovely residence. Here’s a list of the major items that were accomplished since our January post:
- All the main drain stacks have been professionally cleaned as of February 2, 2021
- East/West stairwells have been repainted to meet the new fire inspection code.
- Power washing of our roof was just completed in preparation for the scheduled roof resealing.
- Washer/Dryer token conversion has been completed and is working as anticipated.
- A notice was sent from the office of proof of insurance requirement for all members.
The board of directors has asked that we thank you in advance for your patience as we all navigate our way through the challenges created by this pandemic. Understand that we are trying our best to fulfill the obligations of our By-Laws with as little inconvenience as possible to our members. On the bright side, Happy Valentine’s Day and be sure to “virtually” hug those loved ones around you. Here’s to another successful annual board meeting and election. Stay safe.
